When we went looking for a bird dog to accompany Bryan, several breeds caught our eye, all were versatile hunters. We chose the Wirehaired Vizsla in the end and haven’t looked back since.
We strongly believe that the WV should be a hunting dog first, then a versatile canine of all types, especially as a conformation dog. When the breed was first created, the number one stipulation by the Hungarian Vizsla Club was that the breed must be field tested and compete in the conformation ring. We take this stipulation to heart here at Bird Mtn and you will find that our dogs do both.
